  • Halaal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. In the Quraan-e-Kareem, Allah Ta’ala commands Muslims and all of mankind to eat of the Halaal things. Among the many verses of the Quraan that convey this message, here are a couple:

O Mankind! Eat of that which is lawful and wholesome in the earth, and follow not the footsteps of the devil.

Lo! he is an open enemy for you.(2:168) O ye who believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you, and render thanks to Allah if it is (indeed) He Whom ye worship.(2:172)

  • Halaal Certification is the process of having a qualified independent third party supervise the production of consumables, attesting that they were produced in conformance with the Standards of Halaal and issuing a certificate attesting to that.

Halaal Certification is required to produce acceptable food and consumable products for Halaal consumers. That includes the 1.4 billion Muslims in the world and the many millions of others who also choose to eat Halaal products.
